(GSM) – Fenerbahçe remained a point behind Galatasaray at the top of the Turkish Süper Lig on Saturday after they were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by Gençlerbirligi.

The visitors came out attacking in the first half, but the strong defense of Gençlerbirligi and great play of goalkeeper Serdar Kulbilge kept Christoph Daum’s side at bay.

More of the same came in the second half as striker Gökhan Unal tried his best to put Fenerbahçe in front, but the home side defense came through in a big way to earn a rare point for them against the Istanbul giants.

Fenerbahçe are a point back of Galatasaray, as are Bursaspor. Both of the latter sides are in action on Sunday, but Bursaspor have a game in hand on the leaders.
