(GSM) – Fenerbahçe moved atop the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday as their 1-0 win at Kasimpasa, combined with Bursaspor’s 0-0 draw at Galatasaray, saw them go a point clear at the summit.

Hoping for Bursaspor to drop points in their game later in the day, Fenerbahçe knew that they had to take care of business against Istanbul rivals Kasimpasa.

But the Kasimpasa defense and goalkeeper Murat Sahin made some fantastic plays to frustrated Fenerbahçe for 76 minutes.

The resistance, however, ended, at that point when defender Bekir Irtegun got in to tuck home from close range.

Later in the day, Bursaspor did better than most expected when they managed to earn a point in their stalemate with Galatasaray.

The strong defensive effort earned the visitors a point, and kept them within reach of Fenerbahçe with three matches left to play in the season.
