Fenerbahçe have entered the top four in the Turkish Super League with a 2-0 win over second-placed Ankaraspor.
Ankaraspor needed a win to maintain pressure on leaders Trabzonspor, but conceded an opening goal from Brazilian Roberto Carlos just after the half hour mark.
Lugano doubled the gap nine minutes into the second half and Ankaraspor lacked the strength to fight their way back.
Trabzonspor now have a four-points lead over Ankaraspor, but Besiktas might move into second place when they travel to Bursaspor on Sunday.
