Turkish newspaper Star Gazete understands that Fenerbahce are set to offer around €14 million for Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo.
The Turkish giants have already made several high-profile signings this summer, having captured Mehmet Topal, Dirk Kuyt and Milos Krasic, but the summer spending looks likely to continue.
According to Star Gazete, Fenerbahce are set to submit a new proposal for Benfica star Oscar Cardozo.
The same source reveals that club vice-president Ali Yildirim and managing director Hasan Cetinkaya have flown to Portugal to present their offer.
Fenerbahce earlier had a €12 million bid for the Paraguayan rejected by Benfica, but they are not yet prepared to give up on the 29-year-old.
The Eagles are reportedly asking €20 million for the highly rated striker, but it appears they will have to lower the asking price if they want to cash in on the player.
Oscar Cardozo has proved to be one of the best signings in Benfica’s recent history, having scored 87 goals in 133 league appearances for Estadio da Luz outfit.
