Turkish newspaper Fanatik has learned that Fenerbahce are set to reignite their interest in Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo.

The Turkish giants attempted to sign the Paraguayan during the summer transfer window, but were unable to reach an agreement with the player’s employers.

Nevertheless, Turkish daily newspaper Fanatik has suggested that Fenerbahce will make a fresh assault in the January window.

Despite signing Emmanuel Emenike in the summer, the Canaries are set to try and lure Cardozo to Sukru Saracoglu as well as they want to remain on course to win the Turkish Super Lig title.

Having created a four-point advantage at the top of the league standings, Fener are 4/7 to stay there come end of the season.

Oscar Cardozo, 30, who is widely regarded as one of the world’s most prolific strikers, has continued his rich vein of form this season, scoring 5 goals in 7 Primeira Liga appearances.
