(GSM) – Injured England captain Rio Ferdinand thinks Fabio Capello is a great choice to lead England back on track.

The four-man Club England board decided unanimously to keep Capello, despite England’s woeful performance at the World Cup, which means the Italian will now continue in his £6m-a-year role until the end of Euro 2012.

And Ferdinand was happy with the decision over England boss.

The Manchester United centre-back told The Sun: “I believe 100% that Fabio Capello will turn England round.

“He will make what was a negative into a positive. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from this tournament and I know how determined he is to get us back on track.

“He’s the right man for the job and now he should be left to get on with it.

“Then it’s up to the players to do their jobs.”
