The Daily Star is reporting that Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is ready to snub offers from abroad in the summer and wants to finish his career at Old Trafford.
The England international is reportedly being offered moves to the clubs in the Middle East, MLS and China and could see a huge increase in wages if he were to go, but he sees medals and trophies as more important.
Ferdinand is currently on around £110,000-per-week, but his contract runs out in the summer and the Red Devils expect him to take a pay-cut.
£60,000-per-week is what might be offered to the centre-back and as long as that means staying with the English Premier League-leaders, he is more than happy to accept the offer.
Of course if he were to move abroad, the wages would sky rocket and Ferdinand would be one of the highest earners in the game, so if he does stay in Manchester after the summer transfer window, it would certainly be for football reasons – which would be great to see.
He still sees himself as a top-quality player that can offer a lot to United and help them win a huge array of titles in the comings years.
