Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says that he still counts on Dimitar Berbatov.
The Bulgarian striker has seen limited playing time this season, but Ferguson insists he is still part of his plans.
“He’s got a part to play. Dimitar’s one of our squad members and they’ve all got a part to play,” Ferguson was quoted as saying in The Sun.
“He knows his place in the squad and that applies to players like Mame Diouf, Federico Macheda and Michael Owen — they’re not playing regularly either.
“He’s been training really well, his attitude has been spot on, brilliant, and he’ll get his game time as the season goes on, there’s no question about that.”
Berbatov will be hoping to start United’s Champions League clash against Basel after sitting out the 1:1 draw with Benfica on the bench.
