Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he is delighted to have veteran midfielder Paul Scholes back from injury.
The 34-year-old has been sidelined since September with a knee ligament injury. Reports says he could feature in the Carling Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers on today.
Ferguson told the club’s official website: “I have Paul Scholes in mind. He is on the verge of playing again following his knee injury and operation. He is training well and is chomping at the bit to get started.
“So a place on the bench with perhaps a few minutes’ pitch time could be good for him. We’ll see how things go.”
The Scot added in The Sun: “It is a great boost for us to have Paul back as he is such a top-quality player.”
