Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed plans to reinforce the squad over the summer, saying that he could sign three players.
With several long serving players close to hanging up their boots, Sir Alex admits the squad need some fresh blood.
“We have some ideas in mind. Hopefully, we can get them put in place,” Ferguson was quoted as saying.
“We have Giggs and Scholes coming towards the end of their careers, Neville has retired and Van der Sar is retiring, so there are holes we want to plug in terms of the security of the team for the next few years.
“I am looking at maybe three signings which would boost our quality.”
One place looks to be reserved for a goalkeeper, probably David De Gea, while the Scottish manager is also expected to sign midfield reinforcements.
