(GSM) – Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has heaped praise on Patrice Evra. The Scottish manager described the full back’s form as ‘sensational’ and believes no-one has matched the Frenchman’s consistency.
Evra has been the one constant in United’s unsettled defence this season and he has appeared in all 36 of the club’s Premier League games to date.
His peers also recognised Evra’s good form throughout the season and named him in the PFA Team of the Year.
“The form of Evra has been sensational all season,” said Ferguson. “He is the one player who has not missed any games.
“We rested him at Blackburn, but he still came on as sub, because I think he needed the break then.
“He came back tremendously last week. If you look at the rest of the back four, they have all had scattered appearances.
“There’s no-one who has been near Evra’s consistency – no-one!
“We have done remarkably well to be in the picture despite the handicaps of the back four players being injured.”
