(GSM) – Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was pleased with his side’s work-rate against Aston Villa. United rescued a point after going down to ten-men against Martin O’Neil’s side.
Nani was sent off in the 29th minute after a harsh tackle on Stylian Petrov However, United played well and worked hard dominating certain spells in the second half.
“Everyone on the pitch worked their socks off and played fantastic football,” he told Sky Sports.
“We should have won the game. I think we were the better team and with ten-men for certainly a long time – fair credit to the players they were absolutely brilliant.
“I think we had a good thrust in the second half, we just didn’t quite get the ball in.
“We wanted to win the match, that’s what this title is about.
“We’re in good form, the team. I think we’ve been very consistent tonight in terms of performance level.
“We never dropped and I think we can be very pleased with that.”
