Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken out about the refuted stories about the backing of Cristiano Ronaldo by team mate Carlos Tevez.

The Manchester United manager has blamed the press for having said that Tevez had backed Ronaldo in him wanting to move from Old Trafford to Real Madrid.

Sir Alex denied that Tevez had said, contrary to what the media had quoted, that Ronaldo should be allowed to leave United for Real Madrid.

The statements, initiated by the Spanish media went against everything that Ferguson had worked towards during the summer in trying to keep him at Manchester United.
