A report from Mirror Football is suggesting that Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, is ready to sell David De Gea in this transfer window and bring in another keeper.
This would certainly come as a shock as the Spaniard has only been at the club for a season-and-a-half, but it is thought that the Scotsman is not happy with his performances for the Red Devils.
De Gea is a top quality shot-stopper, but it is his decision making and ability to handle to physical side of the game that are coming under question and Ferguson wants to have 100 per cent trust in his number one.
Now, the United boss could turn towards Liverpool’s goalkeeper Pepe Reina in the window, which would also be a bit of a shock.
Reina has been a consistent performer in the English Premier League for the Reds and is of course eligible to play in Europe this campaign.
All this does mean that a move to Old Trafford is possible, especially as his future is unclear under Brendan Rodgers right now.
If he does move, then Ferguson would be getting a very good keeper, but he might not come cheaply.
We shall see.
