Ferguson predicts two-horse race

Arsenal has showed their excellent form in recent matches and Liverpool is never to be excluded despite their sloppy start of the season but Sir Alex Ferguson has seen enough. The Manchester United boss is convinced it will be a two-horse race for the Premier League title this season between Chelsea and his team.

“I had a feeling about there being a change last season. The top teams are losing games and more points than ever through the early part of the season.

“That gives rise to the hope that it could be a very competitive league. But my experience tells me that two teams break away towards the last part of the season.”

Ferguson, however, can’t predict who might snatch the fourth Champions League slot.

“I could toss a coin and that could be my best chance of deciding who could break into the top four out of Tottenham, Aston Villa, Everton and Manchester City with all the money they have.

“That’s a difficult competition in itself and any one of them is capable of doing that.”

sniffed out your trash talk again Brad…

you’re dropping bombs all over soccernews…

    grrrrrrr…

Wadi – patience my friend…Man U was smart to stay out of the transfer market with inflation running as rampant as it did. If the rumors are true, i’m sure they cannot wait for the transfer window to open in January.

I wasnt giving MUFC too much credit. . . my bad if it sounded like I did, Kurt.
dont count us out yet, though, guys. The season is still relatively young, we could somehow do what we did last year: go undefeated for a LONG, LONG time. We should hope so. . .
but we cant rule out the fact we will probably fail to successfully defend the title. The way Arsenal and Chelsea have been, it could actually be a THREE horse race, instead of two. Hopefully, it will stay at two, between MUFC and Arsenal.

i agree with Kurt.i also man.utd supporter but i do not think we will win the tittle this season.we have good player but not enough quality to retain the tittle .i dont understand WHY sir Alex dont want to buy one or two player at midfielder n striker?the real problem we have to score after missing ronaldo.we must have playmaker n prolific striker..we cannot depend on scholes or giggs which already close to their career. At the box,we dont have the real scorer like chelsea have drogba, liverpool have torres.Rooney is such a backup striker only, berbatov not consistent.David Silva or S.Ireland,Y.Goukaff and D.silva to settle this problem!!!!!!

Guys, guys, please do not give Man U so much credit, their defence is not organised. Just because they won today does not change anything. Every team should not be underestimated especially the top six. I support Man U but I dont see good crossings from the wings when going forward and more especially into the box. Man U are playing the worst soccer I’ve seen in years. Ferguson is difficult and stubborn at times, he makes substitutions at the wrong times and in impotant games mostly 7 minutes before the game ends. Honestly I do not think we will win the league this season and also predict us finishing third if he does not buy any decent midfielder, striker and defender.

    Doing fine, man.
you are right about Sir Alex underestimating other teams, especially after the upset by Burnley. > __ < . Problem is, the Atlantic seperates me from my club, so I cant easily persuade Fergie to be more respectful.
I dont underrate Arsenal and other teams, not even Liverpool. In fact, my friends here in the U.S. are in the impression I OVERRATE opponents. and of course i do, just to fair. All teams are excellent teams, just some (like Arsenal and MUFC) are more excellent than others.

Brad you are right, but your coach (Ferguson) should learn how to stop underrating other teams, especially Arsenal.

Anyway, Hw are U doing today? Brad.

Also, Liverpool most likely are already out of the running to be the winner. Of course, I could be wrong, but the odds are against me being so. . . I think.
As for Manchester City, they’ll give it a good run, but they’ll fall at the final turn.

MasterJohn, get a hold a yourself!
It aint gonna be a two horse race!
Wait. . . it will be but Chelsea wont be the other member.
the members of the race are:
    1). Manchester United
    2). Arsenal

Anyone who has a problem with that can just deal with it. Look at the facts, the Blues always seem to start out strong, but then they sputter out and die. Last season definitely proves that. . .
Arsenal will look down and out at times, but remember the road is a long and trailing one, they could rocket into the lead soon.
I hope not of course. . . but if Manchester United doesnt win the title, only Arsenal can.

Is it sir or Mr. Ferguson you called yourself, I believe you are dreaming, you better wake up from your slumber. Anybody who told you that Arsenal will not fight till the end of the season, the person is just deceiving you. It’s just a mere lies and null wishes that the fight will be two-horse race (that’s Man U and Chelsea). I call it “Unrealistic Dream” by Ferguson because it will never happen as he has predicted. Never!!!
