Ferguson rejigs United for Bursaspor visit

Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson made five changes to his side for the visit of Bursaspor in the Champions League group stage here on Wednesday.

Polish goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak, summer signing Chris Smalling, Korean winger Park Ji-Sung and Italian striker Federico Macheda were among the players who came into the side, as United look to hold onto their lead in Group C.

Wayne Rooney’s announcement that he wishes to leave the club has plunged the club into turmoil this week, but despite his absence with an ankle injury, Ferguson elected to leave top scorer Dimitar Berbatov on the bench.

Bursaspor are bottom of the group going into the game, having lost both of their opening matches to Valencia and Rangers.

Teams

Manchester United: Kuszczak, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson, Nani, Macheda, Park

Bursaspor: Ivankov, Tandogan, Erdogan, Stepanov, Wederson, Sen, Svensson, Ergic, Ipek, Insua, Yildirim

Referee: Gianluca Rocchi (ITA)
