(GSM) – Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Carlos Tevez should have been shown a red card in Tuesday’s heated Manchester derby at Eastlands. The Argentinian forward has been accused of making a reckless challenge on United’s Wes Brown.
Tevez’s high boot caught the thigh of the United defender in a match that saw an excellent performance by the former Manchester United forward, who returned to haunt his former employers.
Ferguson believes Tevez’s challenge on Brown was severe enough to warrant a dismissal.
“Tevez should have been sent off really,” said Ferguson. “Have you seen the tackle? He went over the top of the ball. He didn’t even get booked.”
In the latest twist in the Tevez-United issue, the Argentinian labelled the Red Devils’ captain Gary Neville “a moron” and “a boot-licker” for saying Tevez was not worth his price tag.
