Bruno Fernandes of Sporting Lisbon compared the two teams that competed intensely for the Premier League title to the very last day, when Manchester City eventually outran Liverpool and won the race. Liverpool got their fair due by winning the Champions League on Saturday evening, and Fernandes revealed that he prefers the Merseyside Reds to the Manchester Blues, as relayed by Portuguese outlet Record.
The midfielder elaborated on his stance, explaining that it’s the style of play of Jurgen Klopp’s team that he actually prefers to that of Pep Guardiola, particularly in the counter-pressing segment. While City’s approach to that side of things is more organized, according to Fernandes, He feels that Liverpool’s more robust approach, where the midfield players are very aggressive in winning the ball back.
The 24-year-old has reportedly been a target for Manchester United, as well as Champions League runners-up Tottenham Hotspur.
