Fernandinho set to leave Man City

“Yes, I want to play. I want to play regularly.

“I will go back to Brazil. I decided with my family, which is the most important for me.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has confirmed today that he doesn’t think he’ll still be at the club next season.

The 36-year-old is set to be out of a contract by the time we reach the summer transfer window and after winning four Premier League titles with City, it appears as if he’s ready to move on to pastures new.

It seems like his main motivation is wanting to get some regular minutes under his belt which makes sense, especially when you consider just how strong Pep Guardiola’s squad now is.

City have so, so many midfield options at their disposal that we’d actually probably judge Fernandinho for simply staying and collecting an easy wage. This way, he gets to test himself in an entirely new realm.
