Cautious optimism prevailed in the FC Shakhtar Donetsk camp after their 2-0 UEFA Cup quarter-final, first-leg win over Olympique de Marseille put the Ukrainians on the brink of a maiden European semi-final appearance.
Fernandinho, who helped set up the Pitmen’s second goal, combining with Luiz Adriano before his Brazilian counterpart teed up Jadson, sounded a note of caution. “We shall do our best at Marseille and try to get to the semi-finals,” he said. “But first we must forget about the result of this match. We have to remain calm. We shall celebrate when we beat Marseille.”
