Spanish striker Fernando Llorente has reiterated his desire to remain at Athletic Bilbao.
The 26-year-old is regarded as one of the best strikers in La Liga and he has attracted attention for big European clubs.
The Spanish international was heavily linked with Real Madrid, Liverpool and Tottenham, but it looks as though he will be staying at San Mames after all.
Athletic Bilbao have really raised the club’s profile over the last few years and Llorente is enjoying his time at the Cathedral.
“This is my home and I want to continue (playing) here,” Llorente told Euskal Irrati Telebista.
“May it be many years at Athletic. I feel very loved.”
The striker is ready to sign a contract extension with the club where he started his professional career.
Llorente has been one of the most prolific strikers in La Liga, having scored 50 league goals over the last three and a half seasons.
In spite of struggling with a knee injury from the start to the season, Llorente has already bagged seven goals in the current La Liga campaign.
