Fernando Torres rejects Atletico exit talk

Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has made it clear he has no plans to leave Atletico Madrid in the near future.

With Diego Costa and Vitolo set to join in January, the former Liverpool star was linked with a January exit, alongside Kevin Gameiro and Nicolas Gaitan.

However, Torres insists he is ready to fight for his place in spite of the fierce competition for starting places.

“On 1st February, I will be at Atetico…and I hope that will be the case for a long time,” Torres confessed to AS.

After scoring 8 league goals last term, Torres has yet to find the net in the new La Liga campaign, despite making ten appearances so far.

However, having started just one of those games, the striker didn’t exactly have too many opportunities to prove his worth.
