(GSM) – Under-pressure Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara has rejected rumors that he may soon lose his job following a poor string of results. Ferrara’s Juve lie in sixth place and trail league leaders Inter Milan by 16 points.

Juventus have lost five of their last six games in Serie A. Several sources in Italy claim Juve have finally lose patience with Ferrara and the Turin-based club has already drawn-up a list of possible replacements.

But when the under-fire 42-year-old coach was asked about his side’s upcoming match against Inter, Ferrara said, “I don’t feel on the verge of being sacked. I have not received any announcement from the club and until then, I will continue to do my job with the same spirit and professionalism as always.

“It hasn’t even crossed my mind to resign. When I look in the mirror every morning I am calm.

Ferrara said he feels that everyone at the club is behind him, a fact that has kept him from resigning from his post.

“I have acted on my conscience and that is why I have not presented my resignation.

“If the club and the players were against me, then I would have considered it but everyone is on my side.

“I only have to improve this situation by working even harder.

“I have not succeeded so far but it is not something to feel ashamed about.”
