Feyenoord moved into third place in the Eredivisie thanks to a 3-0 win over RKC Waalwijk, while AZ ended a losing streak against NAC Breda.
Rotterdam-based Feyenoord had no difficulties against last-placed RKC. Andwele Slory opened the score in the 28th minute and an own goal from Toni Varela doubled the lead in minute 73. The third and final goal came from Georginio Wijnaldum in added time, after he had initially hit the post.
AZ Alkmaar looked uncertain after a series of bad results, but did open the score through Jeremain Lens in the 30th minute. Lens had replaced Mounir El Hamdaoui, who arrived late and was excluded from the squad by manager Ronald Koeman.
Joint leaders PSV and Twente face the task of restoring their three-point advantage over Feyenoord on Sunday. PSV visit in-form FC Utrecht while Twente should face an easier task at Heracles in a regional derby.
