Feyenoord and FC Twente remain on top of the Eredivisie, as both had no particular difficulties winning their games on Sunday. AZ Alkmaar moved into third place.
Mario Been’s Feyenoord delivered a convincing performance at De Kuip stadium, brushing Roda JC aside 4-0. Sekou Cisse scored his first goal for Feyenoord after four minutes, ironically against his previous club.
Danish forward Jon Dahl Tomasson made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute and Jonathan de Guzman added two more goals, in the 39th and 86th minute, for a 4-0 result.
FC Twente beat newly promoted RKC Waalwijk 2-1 with goals from Bryan Ruiz and Blaise N’Kufo in the first half hour. Charlison Benshop got one back for RKC on the hour but it wasn’t enough for his side to earn their first point of the season.
SC Heerenveen hosted AZ Alkmaar at Abe Lenstra stadium, where the defending champions went ahead thanks to an own goal from keeper Martin Lejsal in the 30th minute. Mounir El Hamdaoui made it 0-2 in the 64th minute, enough for AZ to add another three points to their account.
PSV hosted NAC Breda and conceded an early goal from Edwin de Graaf, but substitute Danny Koevermans turned things around with goals in the 63rd and 73rd minutes. Ibrahim Iffalay added another late on for 3-1.
Ajax were surprisingly held 0-0 by Sparta Rotterdam, and are stuck in fifth place.
Feyenoord and Twente each have ten points, but Feyenoord have the better goal record with seven scored and none conceded.
