Feyenoord make Babovic swoop

Eredivisie giants Feyenoord have completed the signing of Nantes midfielder Stefan Babovic initially on loan until the end of the season

The Eredivisie club also have first option if they wish to buy the player at any point during the loan.

The 22-year-old is determined to use the move as a platform to regain his place in the Serbian squad ahead of the World Cup next summer with the Serbs looking odds on to qualify for South Africa.

Babovic believes he is joining one of the best teams in Holland and feels he is in one of the best leagues to ensure he improves as a player.

“The Dutch league is one of the best for young players, I hope I can develop here,” he told the club’s official website.

“Feyenoord is for me the best team in the Netherlands, however they had a disappointing season last year.
