Feyennord sign Dirk Kuyt
Dutch forward Dirk Kuyt has agreed to join Feyenoord in the summer transfer window, the Eredivisie side announced on their official website.
The 34-year-old has already penned a one-year deal with his former club, but chances are he will be staying at De Kuip for much longer.
Being a model professional, the former Liverpool star appears to still have at least few more good years ahead of him.
“It is the conclusion of nine great years abroad. I have had three wonderful years here in Turkey and won everything there is to win,” Kuyt told club’s official website.
“It is now a good time to return. I’m in peak condition and I feel a great drive to make a success of my time at De Kuip.
“Hopefully there will be one difference from my first period. I really want to win something now.”
During his first spell with Feyenoord, Kuyt scored impressive 71 goals in 101 league appearances and he is now expected to lead a youthful side that will be coached by his former international teammate Giovanni van Bronckhorst from next season.
Luis Fabiano nears MLS switch
Sao Paulo striker Luis Fabiano could be moving to Major League Soccer at the end of the calendar year, ESPN Brasil has revealed.
The 34-year-old will be a free agent in December seeing as he has no plans to extend his stay at Estadio Cicero Pompeu de Toledo.
According to ESPN Brasil, Orlando City are keen on the player’s services and will attempt to lure him to the MLS next winter.
The club hope their star player Kaka will be able to persuade his compatriot to join him in Orlando, although they are also hot on the trail of Javier Hernandez.
Luis Fabiano returned to Brazil in the winter of 2011 and has since continued scoring goals on regular basis.
Since joining Sao Paulo, the veteran striker has bagged 62 goals in 120 league appearances, while netting five times in nine Copa Libertadores games.
Galatasaray join race for Maxi Pereira
Turkish media outlet Radyospor is reporting that Galatasaray are showing interest in Benfica full-back Maxi Pereira.
The Uruguayan defender will be out of contract at the end of the season and he has yet to make a decision on his future.
Pereira has reportedly agreed in principle a new deal with the Eagles, but he may decide to leave Estadio da Luz in case of a very good offer.
And while the likes of Roma, Napoli and Sunderland have so far expressed interest in his services, Galatasaray are the latest club to have joined the chase.
Emmanuel Eboue is expected to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign and the Turkish giants believe Pereira would be an excellent replacement for the Ivorian.
The 30-year-old has spent last eight years at Estadio da Luz, making 206 league appearances and scoring 11 goals.
