According to a report from Sky Sports News, FIFA’s proposals regarding loan deals are moving closer and closer towards becoming a reality – with the 2020 season being pinpointed as a target date for when they come into effect. The core of the proposal would be that clubs are only able to loan between six and eight players per season, with FIFA already speaking to teams like Chelsea who have 40 players out on loan. Although, there are reports suggesting that the rules may not apply to loans that are domestic or between homegrown players.

Many fans and pundits have been highly critical of FIFA over the course of the last few years and beyond, but it certainly seems like this is a move that more and more fans are on board with.

If the ball gets rolling with this proposal, then we’ll likely hear about more details being released sooner rather than later.
