According to Sky Sports, FIFA are planning on making a change to the international transfers rule, ensuring that there would be limited loans in the future in comparison to the current system. The idea would be to limit the number of players one club can ‘lend’ each season to between six and eight, and the intention is to stop big clubs bringing in lots of new faces only to send them back out on loan almost immediately.

This is something that a series of clubs have been accused of in the past, with Chelsea being a prime example of that. The Blues have been shipping dozens of players out on loan for years now, with some fans believing that they’ve been wasting the potential of players who could actually do some good work at Stamford Bridge if they were just given a chance to show what they’re made of in the first team.
