Finland 11/20 to beat Estonia in Thursday’s international friendly

Competition: International friendly

Market: Finland to Estonia

Odds: 11/20 @ Bet365

Club football is forced to take a break this week as international duty calls for Europe’s top players. With World Cup qualification already secured for many, these friendlies are the perfect chance for managers to test out new players and tactics. With this in mind, Finland take on Estonia on Thursday evening.

Finland struggled massively in their qualifying campaign as they rarely threatened to make it out of Group I. Leaders Iceland finished with 22 points from their 10 games, 13 points ahead of lowly Finland. Just two wins, along with three draws and five defeats mean Finland finished fifth in the group, and scored just nine goals and conceded 13 times in the process. It was definitely a campaign to forget for the side then, and they will be desperate to beat Estonia to give their fans something to cheer.

Estonia had a very similar story to Finland in their qualification group as they struggled massively. Three wins, two draws and five defeats saw them take 11 points from their games, leaving them a massive 17 points short of leaders Belgium, and eight points shy of Greece, who secured a play-off place. While they managed to score 13 goals in their 10 games, what will worry the fans is the fact they had to pick the ball out of their own net 19 times in total, which proved to be their Achilles heel in the end. With both sides in poor form throughout their campaigns, we are backing the home side, with Bet365 giving odds of 11/20 for Finland to win this one.
