Market: Fiorentina to beat Cagliari

Odds: 13/10 @ Bet365

Serie A returns for yet another massive round of fixtures this week as Italy’s league continues to be one of the most competitive in Europe. There are currently four teams separated by just four points at the top of the table, while the sides in the middle of the league are incredibly compact too. With all of this in mind, Fiorentina travel to face Cagliari on Friday.

Cagliari have been struggling this season and they are in danger of becoming embroiled in a relegation battle. After 17 games they have won just five times, while they have drawn twice and lost their other 10 games. Along the way they have scored just 16 goals whilst also conceding 28 times, showing that they have not been particularly impressive at either end of the pitch. In their last five, they have won just once, while they have lost twice and drawn twice, culminating in the hosts collecting just 17 points this season.

Fiorentina have been very good this season and they are looking to close the gap between themselves and the European places. This season they have won six games, drawn five and lost six, scoring 26 goals and conceding 19 times. The fact they have collected 23 points means they are just four behind Sampdoria in the last Europa League spot, meaning a string of wins could see them edging closer to taking a place in Europe next season. With all of this in mind, we are backing Fiorentina with odds of 13/10 from Bet365.
