Serie A outfit Fiorentina have an agreement in place to sign Rennes goalkeeper Benoit Costil, according to L’Equipe.
The Italian giants attempted to recruit the experienced shot-stopper in the summer transfer window, but failed to wrap up the deal before the transfer deadline.
Benoit Costil has since revealed that he will be leaving Roazhon Park when his contract expires at the end of the season, and many believed he would be signing a long-term contract with Marseille.
However, L’Equipe has moved to reveal that the 29-year-old will instead be joining Fiorentina next summer, which is definitely bad news for OM, who have yet to sign a proper replacement for Steve Mandanda.
Benoit Costil joined Rennes five years ago on a free transfer from Sedan and has since made 181 Ligue 1 appearances for les Bretons.
He has been France’s third choice keeper for quite some time, but has yet to be handed his Les Bleus debut.
