Fiorentina and Glasgow Celtic are among the clubs showing interest in Rennes goalkeeper Benoit Costil, according to France Football.
The 29-year-old was on the verge of joining Viola in the summer, but the two clubs eventually failed to agree on a transfer fee.
That could prove a blessing in disguise considering that Costil will soon be available on a free transfer, with his contract due to expire in June.
Chances are that Fiorentina will rekindle their interest in the experienced shot-stopper, but latest reports claim that Glasgow Celtic have joined the race as well.
With both Craig Gordon and Dorus de Vries nearing the end of their playing days, the Bhoys are looking for a new goalkeeper and Costil is definitely an attractive target.
The Rennes goalie has been one of France’s best shot-stoppers for quite a few years and he was handed his Les Bleus debut in November 2016.
