Serie A giants Fiorentina and Napoli could enter a real bidding war for River Plate youngster Rogelio Funes Mori, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the biggest talents in South America and the Argentine giants are ready to cash in on the talented forward.
It is for that reason that club president Daniel Passarella has traveled to Italy, where most of the player’s suitors are located.
River Plate have already rejected an €8 million bid from Benfica, with Fiorentina and Napoli now leading the race.
Passarella was, however, not satisfied with Viola’s offer of €1 million for the season-long loan with an option to buy the forward for €8 million, meaning the ball is now in Napoli’s court.
Even if River Plate value the player at €12 million, they are interested in Azzurri’s player plus cash proposal that would include Eduardo Vargas going in the opposite direction.
