Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Fiorentina are on the verge of signing Argentine midfielder Alberto “Tino” Costa from Spartak Moscow.
Viola appear set to offload summer recruit Mario Suarez and they seem to have already found him a replacement.
Fiorentina are reportedly in advanced talks with Spartak Moscow and are expected to agree a deal for Tino Costa in the coming days.
After enjoying mixed success since joining the Russian giants, the 31-year-old was able to kick-start his career during the loan spell with Genoa and he clearly did enough to catch the eye of their league rivals.
Fiorentina have been missing a true deep-lying playmaker ever since David Pizarro had left the club and Tino Costa definitely fits the mould.
Despite slipping to fourth in the standings, Viola remain just three points behind league leaders Napoli and they are available at 5/4 to achieve a top 3 finish.
