Fiorentina confirm Richards set to join; Monaco eyeing Soldado

hot-transfer-newsFiorentina confirm Richards set to join

Serie A outfit Fiorentina have revealed that they are set to sign Manchester City full-back Micah Richards.

The former England international, who has another year left on his deal at Etihad, was widely tipped to leave this summer as the Citizens recruited Bacary Sagna from Arsenal.

And it appears he is finally on the verge of summer exit, as Fiorentina seem to have agreed a deal for his services.

The Serie A side have moved to confirm that Richards has arrived in Florence on transfer deadline day.

“26-year-old MCFC right-back Micah Richards has landed in Florence ahead of a potential move,” a statement on club’s official Twitter account read.

Viola have lacked cover at right-back with Serbian defender Nenad Tomovic the only option, and they believe the English footballer would prove to be an asset at Artemio Franchi.

Once they complete the deal for Richards, Fiorentina will probably allow Facundo Roncaglia to move to Genoa.

Monaco eyeing Soldado

Daily Telegraph is reporting that Monaco are set to make a late assault on Tottenham Hotspur forward Roberto Soldado.

The Principality club surprisingly allowed Radamel Falcao to join Manchester United on a season-long loan and they now want to replace him with the Spanish striker.

Seeing as how Soldado is no longer a first team regular at White Hart Lane, Spurs seem ready to sell, and they value the player at £13 million.

Nevertheless, the latest reports suggest Monaco will attempt to agree a loan deal rather than signing the forward outright.

The 29-year-old joined Tottenham last summer in a €30 million move from Valencia, but hasn’t quite managed to live up to the billing at White Hart Lane.

Soldado has scored mere 6 goals in 29 Premier League outings, eventually losing the starting berth to Emmanuel Adebayor.

Saints close on Diego Capel

Portuguese newspaper A Bola understands that Spanish winger Diego Capel is set to join Premier League side Southampton.

The Saints boss Ronald Koeman hinted few days ago that the club should make another two signings this summer and the Spaniard is likely to be the first one to arrive at St Mary’s.

A Bola has suggested that Southampton have all but agreed to sign the 26-year-old on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

Diego Capel is a left winger, just like summer signing Dusan Tadic, but with both players capable of operating on the right, chances are they will form a wing partnership at St Mary’s.

The Spaniard has enjoyed several successful years with Sporting Lisbon since arriving from Sevilla, but he has lost his place in the starting line-up of late.

After defeating West Ham 3-1 at Boleyn Ground, Southampton have been made 5/6 favourites to see off Newcastle as well.
