Italian daily newspaper La Nazione has suggested that Fiorentina could make a January assault on Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato.
Given the well-documented injury problems of Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez, Viola may be forced to sign a new striker in the winter transfer window.
And Fiorentina appear ready to try and sign former Milan striker Alexandre Pato on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Sao Paulo, where he will remain until the end of the year, although the Brazilian side recently suggested they were thinking about turning the loan deal into permanent move.
Pato has managed to kick-start his career while at Sao Paulo, having bagged 9 goals in 22 league matches this season.
But, even though he is currently enjoying his time in Brazil, the highly rated forward might be tempted by the return to Italian Serie A, where he has failed to show all he’s got.
