Benfica defender Lisandro Lopez has emerged as the latest target for Serie A high-flyers Fiorentina, Record can reveal.
Despite climbing to the league summit, Viola are in need of defensive reinforcements and coach Paulo Sousa aims to address the issue in the January transfer window.
According to Record, he has made Benfica’s Lisandro Lopez his primary target and could come forward with an official bid in the winter.
The 23-year-old arrived at Estadio da Luz as one of South America’s hottest prospects, but he has since failed to live up to the billing.
Lopez impressed on a season-long loan at Getafe, but then went on to make mere six league appearances for Benfica last season.
And despite starting the first three games of the new Primeira Liga campaign, the talented footballer is clearly not in the first team plans of new coach Rui Vitoria, which is something that Fiorentina aim to take advantage of.
