Fiorentina eyeing Sami Khedira
Serie A outfit Fiorentina have joined the chase for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, reports AS.
The German midfielder is likely to be made available for sale following the arrival of Toni Kroos, and a number of top European clubs have taken notice.
But, while Arsenal have puled out of the race, Italian giants Fiorentina have emerged as favourites for the player’s signature.
The 27-year-old is reportedly open to a possibility of moving to Florence and his former teammate Mario Gomez is also trying to persuade Khedira to join Viola.
The pair played side by side at Stuttgart and Germany national team and there is a chance they can be reunited at Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina are in the market for a long-term successor to veteran playmaker David Pizarro and they look set to make an assault on the Germany international.
Lavezzi set for PSG exit
French daily newspaper L’Equipe understands that Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi will finally leave Parc des Princes this summer.
The Saints are desperate to lure Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid, but they do not have a place for another big earner at the moment.
It is for that reason that PSG plan to cash in on Ezequiel Lavezzi, who earns €5.5 million per season, before launching a fresh assault on his compatriot.
L’Equipe claims that the Saints will settle for a transfer fee of €20 million, with AC Milan, Juventus, Arsenal and Liverpool expected to make their moves.
Having failed to prove his worth at Parc des Princes, Lavezzi has been constantly linked with a move away from the club and it appears the time has come for a farewell.
After sharing spoils with Reims in their opening Ligue 1 fixture, PSG are priced at 1/8 to see off Bastia tomorrow afternoon.
Bryan Ruiz linked with Bundesliga switch
German magazine Kicker is reporting that Werder Bremen are exploring the possibility of signing Fulham forward Bryan Ruiz.
The Bundesliga side still appear to be on the lookout for summer reinforcements and the Costa Rica star is one of the first names on their hit-list.
Ruiz has no plans to remain at Fulham after enjoying a very successful World Cup campaign with los Ticos, and he has already rejected an offer from Besiktas.
A move to German Bundesliga could appeal to him, but it remains to be seen whether Werder can match the €8 million asking price.
At the same time, the Weserstadion outfit are looking at Hamburg midfielder Per Skjelbred, who successfully kick-started his career while on loan at Hertha.
The Norwegian footballer was in fine form last season, having managed 2 goals and 6 assists in 28 Bundesliga outings.
