Fiorentina hope to keep hold of Chiesa

La Repubblica has suggested that Fiorentina are set to offer talented winger Federico Chiesa a new and improved deal.

The 19-year-old largely impressed in his debut Serie A season, having managed 3 goals and as many assists in 27 league appearances, catching the eye of top European clubs in the process.

Seire A rivals Napoli were one of the interested sides in the summer transfer window, but the youngster eventually remained at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Even though the talented winger has another four years left on his current deal, general manager Pantaleo Corvino is preparing a new contract for Chiesa.

Fiorentina chiefs are well aware that the youngster could soon express his desire to leave for greener pastures, and they hope an improved deal will persuade him to stay on for a bit longer.
