Serie A high-flyers Fiorentina are hot on the trail of Reims defender Aissa Mandi, according to L’Equipe.
Viola look ready to mount a serious top 3 challenge in Italian Serie A, but they are short of options in the heart of defence and are desperate to recruit a quality central defender in the coming days.
After failing to lure Lisandro Lopez from Benfica, Fiorentina have now turned their attention to Aissa Mandi.
Viola officials have already held talks with Reims earlier this week, but it looks as though the Ligue 1 side are not too keen on selling their prized asset midway through the season.
Nevertheless, they will probably change their minds if Fiorentina come forward with a substantial offer for the player’s services.
Aissa Mandi, 24, has been in fine form this season, making 16 league appearances and scoring 2 goals in the process for the Ligue 1 strugglers.
