Fiorentina keen on Davide Santon

Serie A outfit Fiorentina are hot on the trail of Inter Milan full-back Davide Santon, according to La Repubblica.

Viola are in the market for defensive reinforcements and they have now set their sights on the former Newcastle United star.

Fiorentina general director Pantaleo Corvino is friends with Santon’s official representative, meaning there shouldn’t be too many problems persuading the 27-year-old to join.

Even though he has another year left on his contract at Stadio San Siro, the full-back will probably be sold this summer having made just 15 league appearances this season.

Santon had returned to Inter Milan some three years ago after a successful spell in England, but he only managed 31 starts in last three Serie A campaigns.
