Serie A giants Fiorentina are in pole position to sign Italian goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu, according to L’Equipe.
The PSG shot-stopper has grown increasingly frustrated by the lack of regular playing time at Parc des Princes and he has set his sights on leaving at the end of the current campaign.
The Saints are unlikely to stand in his way considering that France international Alphonso Areola is set to return from a successful loan stint at Villarreal.
And the latest reports suggest that Fiorentina are ready to offer the 29-year-old an escape route from Paris and make him their number one goalkeeper.
Viola officials do not appear to be perfectly happy with the performances of current number one Ciprian Tatarusanu, and they look set to make a move on Sirigu.
Salvatore Sirigu snubbed interest from several top Italian sides to join PSG, but he would eventually go to lose the starting berth to Kevin Trapp.
