Fiorentina have started the search for a new centre forward, according to Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Viola officials seem to be preparing for life without star striker Stevan Jovetic, who continues to be linked with some of Europe’s top sides.
They are, therefore, determined not to leave anything to chance and want to have a replacement ready in case they receive an offer they can’t refuse for the Montenegro international.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Saint Etienne wantaway striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the number one target, but the problem is half of Europe is after the Gabonese player.
Sevilla star Alvaro Negredo is another option as he looks set to leave the club in the summer, but he, too, would cost at least €15 million.
Fiorentina are also looking at Valencia forward Roberto Soldado, and it could easily happen that one of the three players arrive at Artemio Franchi in the summer transfer window.
