Fiorentina are weighing up move for Catania striker Gonzalo Bergessio, according to Radio Mercato.
The Artemio Franchi outfit bought a number of high-quality players in the summer, but were unable to sign a quality strike partner to Stevan Jovetic.
Having missed out on Dimitar Berbatov in the final stage of the summer transfer window, Fiorentina officials didn’t have enough time to attract a quality forward before the transfer window closed.
Viola aim to make things right in January and Radio Mercato claims Catania forward Gonzalo Bergessio is at the top of their wish list.
The 28-year-old has scored just 9 goals in 39 Serie A games for the Elephants, but Fiorentina believe his strength and eye for goal would make him a great addition to the squad at Artemio Franchi.
It is believed that Catania would require around €8 million for the player who has scored 2 goals in just 3 Argentina caps.
