Free-spending Fiorentina have made a formal bid for Torino stopper Angelo Ogbonna, according to Italian newspaper La Stampa.
The Artemio Franchi outfit have been very active in the summer transfer window, having already signed 13 new players, but the club officials are still working on new deals.
After missing out on Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov, Viola have turned their attention to Torino centre-back Angelo Ogbonna.
The Serie A side want to sign the Italy international as a replacement for young defender Matija Nastasic, who is nearing a switch to Manchester City.
Torino have so far resisted the temptation of cashing in their most prized asset, but Il Granata may not be able to reject a big money offer from Fiorentina.
La Stampa claims Viola have submitted a bid in excess of €10 million, which could prove enough to wrap up the deal before the transfer deadline on Friday.
The 24-year-old defender already has four Italy caps despite spending most of his career in Serie B.
