Chilean daily newspaper La Tercera has learned that the likes of Fiorentina and Porto are keeping close tabs on Malmo FF full-back Miiko Albornoz.
The Swedish-born player has spent his entire career up to date in his native country but despite making seven appearances for the Sweden Under-21 side, the 23-year-old decided to switch his allegiance to Chile.
And having impressed on his debut in the international friendly against Costa Rica, Albornoz has already managed to catch the eye of Europe’s top clubs.
According to La Tercera, Fiorentina and Porto are ready to make an official bid for his services in the summer transfer window.
Seeing as how the talented footballer should be available for mere $4 million, few more top clubs could join the race as well.
After he was named in Chile’s provisional World Cup squad, Albornoz is widely tipped to feature at the tournament finals, where La Roja are 1/2 favourites to win their opening fixture against Australia.
