Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino says the club will not make a move for Antonio Cassano as they already have a similar player in Adrian Mutu.
Fiorentina are just one of the Serie A clubs linked to the Italy international, who looks to be on the verge of leaving Sampdoria following his clash with club president Riccardo Garrone.
Nonetheless, Pantaleo Corvino insists Viola will not enter the bidding war for Cassano even though they were close to signing him some year ago.
“He was a step away from joining us in January, but he is no longer of interest because we have Mutu,” Pantaleo Corvino said.
“I don’t know where he will go or whether he will join a big club.”
