Serie A giants Fiorentina have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Alessandro Diamanti from Guangzhou Evergrande.
The experienced attacker arrives at Artemio Franchi on a six-month loan with an option to buy.
Viola were looking to add more options to their attack given the doubts surrounding the fitness of Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez, and they did well to agree a deal for the Italy international.
Diamanti was hoping to return to Italy following a somewhat disappointing spell in China during which he made 24 league appearances and score mere 4 goals.
The former West Ham forward hopes to kick-start his career at Artemio Franchi and return to the international fold, seeing as he is yet to receive a call-up by new Italy coach Antonio Conte.
Before moving to China, Diamanti had enjoyed two and a half very successful years at Bologna, but eventually missed out on a place in Italy’s World Cup squad.
