Serie A side Fiorentina are set to activate the €10 million buyout option in order to make the Argentina international defender German Pezzella’s loan deal into a permanent contract, club director Pantaleo Corvino has confirmed.
“I don’t see why we shouldn’t activate the agreed option for Pezzella at €9.5m next summer.”, he said.
The 26-year-old defender joined Viola this summer from Real Betis and went on to impress for the Italian outfit.
Pezzella has emerged as a first-choice defender and has already notched 13 Serie A appearances during which time he scored a goal and managed an assist.
A fine start to the life in Italy has not gone unnoticed and the Argentina defender has already attracted plenty of interest around the European continent.
Premier League outfit Tottenham and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are said to be casting admiring glances towards the Real Betis man, but Fiorentina will waste no time in securing a permanent deal for a player who wasted no time in becoming a fan favourite over at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
